Mayor Barbara Donno was first elected mayor of the Village of Plandome Manor in 2007. Prior to becoming mayor, she also served as trustee and president of the Manhasset Board of Education from 1995-2004.
Active in the Nassau County Village Officials Association which represents 64 incorporated villages, Mayor Donno is a member of the executive board and also serves as their first vice president. She represents Plandome Manor on the board of the Port Washington/Manhasset Office of Emergency Management.
A former educator, Mayor Donno graduated from Duquesne University and holds a masters degree from Hofstra University. In 2004, Mayor Donno was named to the North Hempstead Women’s Roll of Honor and in 2005 was honored by Duquesne University as a Distinguished University Alumni.
Mayor Donno is active in many civic and not for profit organizations. She is a member of the Manhasset Rotary Club and serves on the Board of Directors for Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation and the Lead the Way Fund as well as a member of the Long Island Regional Planning Council. In addition to serving as community liaison to NY State Senator Jack Martins she is also liaison to the Council of Greater Manhasset Civic Associations
