Mayor Barbara Donno and Kim Kaiman of PSEG Long Island at Leeds Pond, where PSEG installed a new osprey platform.

“The Village of Plandome Manor is pleased to partner with PSEG Long Island in supporting their efforts to install an osprey relocation platform near Leeds Pond. This platform is meant to encourage nesting away from their power lines. By working collaboratively with PSEG Long Island, we are minimizing electric outages while preserving and protecting these beautiful birds. We thank PSEG Long Island for their continuing efforts to safeguard our environment and for protecting our precious osprey population." Mayor Barbara Donno, Village of Plandome Manor

Preserving the nature and beauty of #LongIsland and the #Rockaways is just as important to us as ensuring reliable energy to its residents – so we’re pretty excited when we get to do both. Watch us give this osprey a new home in the Village of Plandome Manor after moving its nest from atop our utility pole. From Newsday
